What is BLS?

BLS stands for Basic Life Support. It is a type of emergency medical care that is provided in life-threatening situations.

What does BLS include?

BLS includes a range of interventions, such as performing CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and using an AED (automated external defibrillator), to help keep the person alive until they can receive more advanced medical treatment. BLS is often provided by healthcare professionals such as paramedics, nurses, and doctors, as well as trained laypeople, such as teachers, security guards, and coaches.

Is BLS required in certain professions?

BLS training and BLS certification is usually required for people working in the healthcare field and other profession that may be required to provide emergency care, such as teachers, security guards, and coaches.

What is BLS Certification?

BLS (or Basic Life Support) certification is a type of training program that teaches individuals the skills and knowledge needed to provide emergency care in life-threatening situations. It is typically aimed at healthcare providers such as nurses, paramedics, and doctors, as well as other professionals who may be called upon to provide emergency care, such as teachers, security guards, and coaches.

What does BLS Certification cover?

BLS certification covers a range of topics including CPR, the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and the recognition and treatment of choking. The certification is usually valid for a period of two years, after which the individual will need to retake the course to maintain their certification.

Please note that BLS is different from CPR certification: BLS includes advanced life support techniques such as the use of advanced airway management, defibrillation and ECG interpretation.

Remember that some certifications require you to renew your certification after certain period, so make sure you understand the certification’s expiration policy and what is required to maintain it.
